Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder sifted if lumpy
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar sifted if lumpy
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup canola oil or extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Lightly coat an 8×8 baking dish with cooking spray and line it with parchment paper. Spray the parchment paper as well.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, chocolate chips, and sea salt.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, olive oil, water, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Transfer the thick batter into the prepared baking dish and use a spatula to evenly spread and smooth the surface.
  6. Bake for 40 to 48 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with only a few crumbs attached.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing.
  8. Store the brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze them for longer storage.
