Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar sifted
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 3 drops food coloring or as needed (Optional)

Method
 

  1. Gather all ingredients and ensure butter is at room temperature.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat butter until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add sifted confectioners’ sugar, beating until fully incorporated.
  4. Mix in vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Add milk and beat for 3–4 minutes until light and creamy.
  6. Add more confectioners’ sugar if a stiffer consistency is desired.
  7. Add food coloring, if using, and beat for about 30 seconds until evenly colored.
  8. Use immediately to frost cakes or cupcakes.
