Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 15 oz green jackfruit (in brine)
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • cup + 3 tablespoons flour
  • ¾ cup plant milk
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • Salt to taste
  • ~½ cup canola oil for frying
  • Optional sauce: BBQ or buffalo

Method
 

  1. Drain, rinse, and cut the jackfruit into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Toss the jackfruit with cayenne, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt until evenly coated.
  3. Lightly cook the jackfruit in the oven or air fryer to firm up the texture.
  4. In a bowl, mix the flour, plant milk, baking soda, and salt until smooth.
  5. Dip each piece into the batter, then coat lightly with additional flour.
  6. Heat canola oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  7. Fry the coated jackfruit for 1–2 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  8. Toss with BBQ or buffalo sauce if desired and serve immediately.
