Ingredients
  

  • 2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Garnish: brandied cherry or lemon twist, if preferred

Equipment

  • Mixing glass
  • Bar spoon
  • Jigger
  • Strainer
  • Chilled Nick & Nora or coupe glass

Method
 

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Add rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.
  3. Stir well until thoroughly chilled.
  4. Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora or coupe glass.
  5. Garnish with a brandied cherry or a lemon twist.
  6. Serve immediately.
