In a small saucepan, combine rice vinegar, sugar, oil, and salt.
Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely, then let the mixture cool.
Pour the vinegar mixture over the cooked rice.
Gently stir to combine, allowing the rice to absorb the seasoning as it cools.
Continue mixing lightly until the rice reaches a glossy, slightly sticky texture.
Use as desired for sushi or serve as a side.
