Method
- Add bourbon to a cocktail shaker.
- Add fresh lemon juice.
- Add simple syrup.
- Add egg white if using.
- Shake without ice for 30 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
- Add ice to the shaker.
- Shake again until well chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
- Add 3–4 drops of Angostura bitters on top.
- Garnish with an orange slice.
- Add a maraschino cherry.
- Serve immediately.
